Volumetric effects can be particularly challenging to achieve. In most cases achieving the look and motion of the effect are two separate, labouriously iterative, processes.
The 5x5 Voxel Renderer gives a user a higher level of control. It allows an artist to preview volumetric effects as they are constructed - at any resolution. This means you can flip-book the look and motion of your effect in a realistic time before you render. There is even an OpenGL preview render for when you need that little extra bit of feedback.
