Over the past year Myrtle Software has worked with Digital Domain, the leading visual effects house based in Venice California, to help produce the next generation of its proprietary Storm renderer.

Myrtle Software completely supported Storm for Digital Domain on the following major motion pictures

      Speed Racer
      Transformers
      The Golden Compass

and continues to do so on the forthcoming features

      The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor
      GI Joe

Storm won Digital Domain an Academy Award® for Scientific and Technical Achievementin 2004.

Myrtle Software has been hired by Digital Domain, the leading visual effects house based in Venice California, to help produce the next generation of its proprietary Storm renderer.

Storm won Digital Domain an Academy Award® for Scientific and Technical Achievement in 2004 and has been used on numerous major motion pictures including The Day After Tomorrow, Stealth, Flags of Our Fathers, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End and Transformers.

The 5x5 Voxel Renderer is coming to Autodesk's Maya with a whole host of powerful new features! (see a screenshot here)
Myrtle Software is currently looking for studios with Autodesk's Maya/ Pixar's Renderman vfx pipelines, initially under Unix, who are interested in participating in alpha stage evalution of this major upgrade of our flagship product. We'd particularly like to hear from facilities who have tornadoes to produce.

Many thanks to all those people we met whilst demonstrating the 5x5 Voxel Renderer at Siggraph 2006 in Boston. It was great to put so many faces to names!

Two major new features added to the 5x5 Voxel Renderer. Firstly, new tools have been created to enable artists to easily generate Deep Shadow Maps for volumetric effects produced using 5x5. Secondly, users can now automatically generate mattes for object/ volume intersections without having to re-render the volumetric. Please Login to read the new example.
