July 2007 Myrtle Software has been hired by Digital Domain, the leading visual effects house based in Venice California, to help produce the next generation of its proprietary Storm renderer.
Storm won Digital Domain an Academy Award® for Scientific and Technical Achievement in 2004 and has been used on numerous major motion pictures including The Day After Tomorrow, Stealth, Flags of Our Fathers, Pirates of the Caribbean: At Worlds End and Transformers.
Craig Zerouni of Digital Domain said "It's very exciting for us to be able to draw on the the skills and experience of Peter Baldwin and Myrtle Software. The fit between their expertise and our existing toolset is ideal, and proving very productive." Peter Baldwin of Myrtle Software said "It's a great honour to be chosen to help produce the next version of such an august, production proven tool. I'm sure that we can make it even better and keep Digital Domain ahead of the curve for many years to come".
